Stage coach and a case of whisky, Barkerville, Cariboo, BC

It was still pre-season when we visited the historic town of Barkerville in June 1995. The 125+ old houses, businesses and other attractions were not yet open to the tourists. Carpenters and painters were standing on scaffolds and ladders to repair clapboard or put on a new coat of paint. Later in the season, you can book a ride around town and the nearby gold fields in the stage coach, but just now the ‘actors’ are only learning how to move the horses and coach through the narrow streets of the town.
